Memories of murder is a Korean masterpiece with unique and engaging direction by Joon-ho Bong. I have always loved Korean movies for their originality , wittiness and simplicity.Koreans have a style of their own.
Memories of Murder is a slow yet engaging thriller which will make you laugh and ponder at the same time about the characters as well ass the story.
You fall in love with the characters and go through the emotional swings of loving and hating them. Memories of murder not only portrays the violence and the anxiety of detectives to catch the killer but also an unlasting quest to know the truth and solve the mystery.
It plays different notes at different times but the overall effect of it is transcendental and satisfying. If you can watch what needs to be seen it's more than recommended. Rather it is an example of how great movies are accomplished with simplicity and brilliance.
